ILG Launch Former South African Rugby Captain iOS App
ILG Business Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of the Official John Smit application, available on iPhone and iPad. This personal application is an interface for Smit to communicate with fans and followers, as well as a tool to promote his corporate public speaking and his book ‘Captain in the Cauldron’.
John Smit is the 50th captain of the South African national rugby union team, the Springboks, and currently playing professionally in England with Saracens. He retired from international rugby following the 2011 Rugby World Cup as the most-capped player in South African history, with 111 appearances. Heavily involved with charity work, Smit has supported the Bobbi Bear foundation, the LIV foundation and the Chris Burger & Petro Jackson Players Fund throughout his career.
After impressing John with the success of the enterprise Saracens app, developed by ILG Business, he was keen to pursue this idea and create his own app. Smit was looking for a platform to interact with his many fans around the world, and bring all his experience, career and future plans into one source.
ILG Business is a business-to-business technology company, specialising in public and enterprise application development bringing new digital and mobile products to market. ILG Business were excited to work closely with John to bring this project to life and were delighted with the finished product, as expressed by Richard Groves, Director; “It has been a pleasure working closely with John to produce this app for him. It has been exciting watching the project evolve into the finished product, which we are very happy with. ILG Business have some very exciting projects in the pipeline, and our elite sports app has proved a success!”
With the lead up to Smit’s Barney’s Army game, John was able to comment “I would like to thank ILG Business for all their hard work in building such an innovative and slick application for my fans and followers. It is great that so many people in sport are embracing the technological movement which can help to enhance the game on and off the pitch.” John Smit 2012.
