On the 15th November Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) achieved the status of ‘Accredited’ supplier of signage for Carillion plc, one of the UK’s leading support services companies.
The accreditation means RBLI will now be able to supply signage across the Carillion Group.
Commercial manager for RBLI Robert James said of the accreditation, ‘We are really pleased that Carillion recognises the commercial and social opportunities that arise from accrediting RBLI as a supplier.
For RBLI, the accreditation means we can expand the portfolio of products that we supply into Carillion which in turn helps us to achieve our aim of expanding the employment opportunities for our beneficiaries.’
RBLI is a registered Social Enterprise that derives its income from the sale of a range of goods and services that include the manufacture of way finding, commercial and safety signs.
Robert James adds ‘Carillion, like all our customers, knows that whilst we may be a charity, we don’t expect to be treated as one. We supply industry leading products to the highest standards of quality at a competitive price; the feel good factor is thrown in for free!’
Based in Aylesford, Kent, RBLI’s Social Enterprise employs over 120 people, of which at least 70% have a disability or health condition. New contracts and accreditations represent a major boast for RBLI and help to create long term sustainable employment for Veterans and people with disabilities. It is the aim of the RBLI to create at least an additional 20 jobs within our factory over the coming months.
