National role for IAB Chief Executive


ToniGuy (2) (2)Malcolm Trotter, Chief Executive of the International Association of Book-keepers, based at Kings Hill, has been appointed chairman of the SFEDI/IOEE Advisory Council.

SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) is the Government recognised, not-for-profit, Sector Skills Body for Business Enterprise and Business Support.

It researches what is needed for those preparing to start their own self-employed or micro enterprise, and develops National Occupational Standards to support them.

The Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE) is the first institute dedicated to developing and recognising the skills of enterprising people,

The Advisory Council, which is comprised of representatives of all the major UK small business membership and business support organisations, works to continually improve the quality of enterprise education, training and support.

“My appointment as Chairman of the SFEDI and IOEE Advisory Council is a reflection of the respect and regard with which the International Association of Book-keepers is held within the business community,” said Malcolm.

“Our qualifications for bookkeepers are recognised as the industry standard, and I believe the experience gained from our work within our own sector will help drive the work of the SFEDI Advisory Board.”

One of Malcolm’s first duties as Chairman was to present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Toni Mascolo OBE, founder of TONI&GUY, recognising his contribution to business and enterprise skills.

The presentation was made at the SFEDI & IOEE Celebrating Enterprise event at the House of Commons.
