Get a taste for green living at business breakfast in Medway

Businesses in Medway can learn about how to save money and reduce their carbon footprint over breakfast.

A business breakfast, held at the Innovation Centre Medway, will take place on Wednesday, 14 December from 7.30 to 10.30am to give businesses top tips on getting greener.

Run by Medway Council and the Carbon Trust, the event is aimed at giving businesses in Medway tips on managing their energy consumption to bring down costs and benefit the environment.

Businesses will benefit from a free action plan to start saving them energy, training materials and one to one advice, as well as the opportunity to network with other companies.

Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Strategic Development and Economic Growth, Cllr Jane Chitty, said: “Saving energy is one of the easiest ways for businesses to cut costs and through simple steps can make a real difference to their profit margins.

“In addition, it’s incredibly important that businesses are environmentally responsible and as a council we are committed to helping businesses become more efficient and eco friendly through events such as this.

“We also have our Eco Advantage scheme that provides all sorts of courses and workshops for businesses to help them reduce their carbon footprint, increase competitiveness and help their business grow.”
