Discovery Park and Enterprise Zone Update

Kent Business TV will be regularly reporting on the development of the Enterprise Zone over the coming year. This morning, we asked Locate in Kent chief executive Paul Wookey for his thoughts and he commented:

“This is really good news. We welcome the Government’s recognition of the challenges and opportunities facing the East Kent economy.

“Granting Enterprise Zone status to the site will help underpin the long-term future of East Kent by giving businesses further reason, as well as the county’s proximity to London and the continent, skilled workforce and high quality of life, to relocate to the area.

“The new Enterprise Zone will give firms of all sizes, from start-ups to established companies, the business and financial support they need to deliver growth and job creation.

“Through our close collaboration with UKTI and the new owners of the site we are confident that we will be able to attract occupiers to Discovery Park and play our part in securing thousands of future jobs for East Kent.

“Gaining Enterprise Zone status is testament to the compelling case put forward by the Pfizer Taskforce and supported by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership.”
