Charity Work Spawns New Golf Event Company

Tenterden based European Tour Golfer Benn Barham has decided to turn his long experience of organising charity and sponsor golf events into a new venture.

Although continuing to play a full-time on Tour, Benn will be working with John Chapman, a Kent-based business owner, who also has considerable golf event creation and management experience. For the past few years he has been helping Benn with his efforts to raise funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children and this experience of working together has led them to establish Bespoke Golf Events Ltd (BGE).

BGE will be ensuring businesses and charities make the most out of their golf events by using Benn’s many contacts in the professional golf world, which will provide BGE with unique access to some famous golfing personalities whose involvement will help make BGE’s events truly effective and entirely memorable.

Although BGE is a commercial venture, Benn and John will continue to work with charity events. Having recently undergone surgery to remove a cancerous kidney, Benn has been appointed an Ambassador for the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer. Plans are already underway for a celebrity golf event to be held in the autumn to raise money for the Fund.
