Bluewater Prepares for Last Minute Rush on Christmas Eve!

Bluewater is anticipating a very busy Christmas Eve this Saturday, as retailers predict guests will be buying last minute Christmas gifts and collecting pre-ordered turkeys, wine, and Champagne. In addition, retailers are expecting gifts such as perfume, jewellery, in particular watches and rings, and toys to be extremely popular.

David Wilkinson, Head of Marketing, commented: “We are fully prepared for a busy Saturday as many guests are on holiday and will be seeking last minute gifts, or having a fun, family day out at Bluewater’s ‘Christmas in New York’ event, for ice skating or visiting the free Santa’s Grotto.

The 20th – 23rd December has been extremely busy and following Christmas Eve, we anticipate the total footfall to be around 750,000; however the post-Christmas week is traditionally our busiest of all, with around 900,000 guests expected.”

Bluewater has seen a large increase of male guests between the 19th – 23rd December, and many have been reported to be utilising the Bluewater charity gift wrap service, which is set to dramatically increase on Christmas Eve. The concierge team have been helping thousands of guests, the majority of which are men, with their Christmas shopping lists, and those seeking advice on where to buy the perfect gift.
